Coming to the Alliance

Celebrated francophone author, and also a major figure in francophone literature, Maryse Condé, born in Guadeloupe, studied at the Sorbonne in Paris. Her novels explore racial, gender, and cultural issues in a variety of historical eras and locales. Discussion also includes Alison James, University of Chicago; Doris Kadish, University of Georgia and others. Pascale-Anne Brault, De Paul University, will moderate. Co-presented by: The Alliance Française de Chicago, De Paul University, Chicago and the Cultural Services of the French Consulate in Chicago.
